Dr. Bruce Bradtmiller is president of ANTHROTECH , located in Yellow Springs,
OH. With degrees from Indiana and Northwestern Universities, he
joined the firm in 1983. He has been principal investigator for a number
of projects, including the 1987-1988 anthropometric survey of the U.S. Army,
which now serves as the standard for U.S. anthropometric surveys. Since
assuming leadership of the firm in 1992, Bradtmiller has been instrumental
in expanding the company’s client base to include design firms, all of the
U.S. military services, a number of auto manufacturers and the manufacturers
of personal protective equipment. His publications cover topics in anthropometric
data collection, data analysis techniques and data application to particular
design problems. He is a member of a number of professional scientific
organizations, including HFES, as well as the SAE Committee G-13 on Human
Body Modeling, the ISO Technical Committee on Anthropometry and Biomechanics,
and is an ISO liaison to the corresponding European Standards committee. He
is currently project leader for an ISO and European standard on 3-D Anthropometry.
